Summary This position is located at Seward Military Resort. Selected candidate will be required to reside in Seward, Alaska within 30 days of appointment as this is a year-round position. Housing may be provided on a space available basis. Up to 25% recruitment, relocation and/or retention incentive may be authorized. Responsibilities Plans, coordinates, and directs a variety of related work operations or functions. Possess strong troubleshooting skills in all areas of maintenance in guest rooms, meeting space, and front of the house areas, as well as back of house areas including kitchen, laundry, electrical, mechanical and HVAC systems. Monitor team member’s performance to include, but not limited to, quality control, providing supervision, providing professional development/training and delivering recognition and reward. Assigns and explains work requirements and operating instructions to subordinate supervisors and sets deadlines. Maintains balanced workloads by shifting assignments, workers and other resources. Determines equipment, supplies, and maintenance required. Assures arrival of supplies and equipment at work site as needed. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Progressively responsible work experience in hospitality engineering and facilities maintenance performing leader or supervisory duties. Must be well-organized with attention to detail. Must be able to communicate clearly both orally and in writing. Must have the ability to read blueprints and schematics; a strong working knowledge of all major building systems and tracking orders; Universal Refrigerants Certification; and a willingness to work different shifts as business dictates. PCS Costs Payment Permanent Change of Station (PCS) costs may be authorized, based on a determination that a PCS move may in the Government's interest. FWS Allowances and Differentials This is a federal wage schedule (FWS) position. All FWS employees are entitled to overtime work for work in excess of 8 hours in a day or in excess of 40 hours in the administrative workweek, whichever provides the greater benefit to the employee. Regular full-time, regular part-time (to include those in a limited tenure appointment category) and regularly scheduled flexible employees are entitled to Sunday premium pay when working Sunday shifts. A FWS employee will be paid a night shift differential of 7.5% for the entire shift when a majority of the employee's regularly scheduled non-overtime hours of work occur between the hours of 1500 and 2400. A FWS employee will be paid a night shift differential of 10% of the scheduled rate if a majority of the employee's regularly scheduled non-overtime hours of work occur between the hours of 2300-0800. Incentives and Bonuses Incentives may be paid. Up to 25% recruitment, relocation and/or retention incentive may be authorized. Non-Foreign Overseas Allowances Non-foreign overseas allowances, cost of living (COLA), and differentials will not be paid, contingent upon eligibility.
