GENERAL FUNCTION:

Administers the Center's Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) program in accordance with the Job Corps rules and regulations. Inspect all center areas for safety and health violations; make recommendations for corrective action plans. Provide orientation and training to students and staff on the Center Safety and Health Plan. Complete all required accident and injury reports in full compliance with the Job Corps and OSHA regulations. Coordinate with other safety and health staff on center (e.g., nurse, maintenance supervisor, instructors, and others) to ensure a safe and healthful environment in which to live, work, and train.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

High school diploma or equivalent; and two (2) years of safety related experience. OR An associate degree in safety or a related field; and one (1) year of safety related experience.

NOTE: Upon hire applicants must complete additional safety required training within a specified timeframe.

Must complete all required training listed in Exhibit 5-4 of the Policy Requirements Handbook within specified time frame.

DESIRED QUALIFICATION : Designation as a Certified Safety Professional (CSP)

Licenses or

Certificates:

  • A valid Regular Driver License is required.

  • Must be certified or able to obtain certification in CPR and first aid.
