Nike DESIGNER I , GC EXPRESS LANE in Shanghai, China

As the Express Lane Graphic Designer 1, you'll work under the direction of the Design Director and Design manager to create close to market trend relevant and retail-viable color design Apparel options. Support design to deliver & execute seasonal projects, aligned to creative direction & project briefs. Your focus is on the Greater China marketplace while obsessing relevant market trends and consumers in our top key cities. Develop consumer-facing stories from concept to retail product which include graphics, design, market and lifestyle trend research that influence designs while staying aligned with Nike’s overarching Creative Direction. Create original, graphic and/or textile designs (repeats print) that appropriately reflect Nike's design philosophy. Work with cross-functional groups such as Design, Product Marketing, Brand, Merchandising, Development, and Materials to ensure the feasibility of designs, meeting price points, merchandising needs, and product creation timelines. Present your concepts, execution, and product details to your internal and cross-functional partners at key seasonal meetings. In addition, you'll provide design support for higher-level Designers as needed. Assist in the creation of original product designs or refresh existing products with supervision from design leadership. Assist and cooperate with other design teammates in the preparation of the design creative process, including product and tech pack build creation, legal approval process, and product development process. Willing to participate in market visits and factory visits with the design partners seasonally.

QUALIFICATIONS

OBSESS WITH TREND

  • Focus on the Greater China marketplace while obsessing relevant market trends and consumers in our key cities.

  • Develop concepts from market research to trend report, graphic design etc consumer facing products.

  • Strong familiarity with current local and international fashion trends, youth culture, and sport culture.

CREATE AS A TEAM

  • Create original graphic, textile designs and/or color palette reflects Nike design philosophy.

  • Create design under direction from Design director and assist senior level designers.

  • Provide appropriate tech-pack and schematics for product development.

  • Able to work in a fast-paced, rapidly changing, and result-oriented environment.

STORY TELLER

  • Able to utilize multiple internal and external resources and generate compelling hyper-local stories that can apply on product concepts and design.

  • Present concepts, execution and product details to your internal and x-functional partners at key seasonal meetings.

  • Fluent in local language with basic to native English presentation skills.

IT’S A PLUS IF YOU HAVE…

  • Bachelor’s degree in Graphic design or related education

  • Strong commercial and/or personal portfolio

  • Hand-drawing skill, type design, photographic skill

  • Passion of the brand and rich knowledge of Nike products

  • Relevant work experience in design

  • International background
