Position:Global Business Intelligence Manager – China

Location:Shanghai, China

Summary: it is a critical role Johnson & Johnson Vision working with the China Commercial Leadership Team to provide a strategic, business performance mindset; a forward focused, foresight orientation and strong and China-relevant insights to guide strategic business decisions. The role will have a good mix of Strategy & Execution, with a focus on driving J&J Vision Care & Surgical Vision growth. The position reports into the APAC GBI Lead (functional lead) and works closely with China Leadership team, local China Data Science team and APAC Business Intelligence team across Vision Care & Surgical Vision. Adheres to environmental policy, procedures, and supports department environmental objectives. Engages in Credo-based decision-making.

Responsibilities:

  • Identifying, tracking, and analyzing emerging category and patient trends, consulting and collaborating with commercial leaders on business implications.

  • Identify areas of opportunities, competitive threats, white spaces to input into business and strategic planning processes to maximize growth for JJV.

  • Lead the design and delivery of projects, develop relationships, and facilitate high level stakeholder workshops and engagements.

  • Develop customer and patient journey insights to identify opportunities for JJV to drive J&J Vision Care & Surgical Vision growth, new product introduction and competitiveness.

  • Work closely with the Vision China Leadership team define key business questions and problem statements, establish business hypothesis, lead primary research and/or data analysis, synthesize finding and make recommendations to drive growth and competitiveness. This role requires strong consultative partnership, strategic framing, and influential communication.

  • Collaborate with Marketing, Commercial Excellence, Key Accounts & Sales teams on brand development, execution and performance. Provide actionable insights and recommendations based on strategic insights and analytics across consumers/professionals/customers.

Active, and influential business strategy consultant, whose role it is to ensure that category, consumer and customer analytics and insights are the foundations of our business strategy and execution.

Ability to build on and combine soft skills with analytical skills and use integrative thinking to convey research findings to drive actions with your key business partners across country, region, levels and functions.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Strong insights to action recommendation capability & ability to connect the dots and identify trends and business opportunities.

  • Utilize broad set of analytical tools/techniques for, analysis & transformation, interpretation & insights & reporting.

  • Strategic analysis and planning skill with TBC/6-8 years of progressive experience in strategic insights, market research, business analytics, strategic forecasting, or a related field.

  • Technical market research and analytical expertise and conversant in a range of quantitative and qualitative research techniques and syndicated business analyses.

  • Strong working knowledge of Tableau/BI tools is essential.

  • Excellent communication skills, ability to think strategically and analytically to understand complex or ambiguous problems or issues and communicate strategically, influentially and concisely.

  • Ability to influence cross-functional and management teams to impact decision-making; Willingness to “have an opinion” backed up by insight and the confidence to influence key stakeholders in meetings and one to one basis.

  • Strong track record of leadership in high performance consumer packaged or MedTech/Medical Devices industry or related field Demonstrated ability to work in a matrix environment where a high degree of collaboration is needed is strongly preferred.
