New York University Postdoctoral Fellowship in Physics in Shanghai, China

Pilkyung Moon’s group (wp.nyu.edu/moon/publications) at NYU Shanghai (https://shanghai.nyu.edu/) invites applications for one postdoctoral research fellow position in condensed matter theory. Those who are interested in the theoretical investigation of the electronic structures and physical properties of low-dimensional nanostructures, such as graphene superlattices, moiré superlattices, quasicrystals, and nanotubes are encouraged to apply.

Appointments will be made for two years, renewable for successive years under mutual agreement. Terms of employment at NYU Shanghai (https://shanghai.nyu.edu/academics/faculty) are comparable to NYU New York and other U.S. institutions.

Responsibilities:

  • carry out research with Prof. Pilkyung Moon in the general area of hard condensed matter physics

  • apply research grants

  • train and supervise students

Required Education

  • Ph.D. in physics, material sciences, or related area

Required Experience

  • Analytical and/or computational experiences in low-dimensional nanostructures are preferred.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Knowledge in theoretical condensed matter physics is required.
