The team’s mission is to drive great fundamentals across Windows by partnering with engineering teams on marquee experiences and empowering teams with tools and platforms to measure, refine, and ship delightful experiences at quality. In this role you'll continue our tradition of taking a data-driven, principled approach to quality and holding ourselves and partners to a high bar. We invest in optics to understand product truth, define the minimum bar for each stage of the development process, and set the tone on raising our bar for delivering world class quality every time. We partner across the company with key teams such as Teams, Edge, Office, and Surface, as well as outside the company with hardware, firmware, and software partners. As the leader of our Shanghai-based PM team, you’ll be responsible for defining the vision and strategy for a broad space, delivering on that vision, helping grow a talented and diverse PM team, and fostering a great team culture.

As Principal Product Management Manager, you will define and deliver capabilities to measure and visualize key quality metrics, and use them to monitor and maintain quality as new changes advance through the process from teams across the Windows organization. You'll work with your local engineering counterparts to lead and deliver in partnership with the worldwide Fundamentals team and broader Windows organization.

Responsibilities

  • Establish a holistic set of quality and business metrics that we use to evaluate and track every update

  • Lead the design and operationalization of an automated system to track and monitor quality across audiences the lifecycle of new Windows features

  • Build new capabilities in Windows to automatically monitor and diagnose potential device health problems and develop solutions for them

  • Collaborate with engineering teams across Windows to integrate diagnostic data, user feedback, and bug reports with existing and new telemetry data

  • Lead your PM team on day to day tasks including defining goals, delivering functional specs, aligning with partners and stakeholders, establishing and monitoring success metrics, reporting progress to multiple levels of organization leadership

Qualifications

Required Qualification

  • Bachelor's Degree AND 8+ years experience in product/service/ project/program management or software development

  • OR equivalent experience.

  • 4+ years people management experience.

  • 4+ years of experience leading cross-functional and/or cross-team projects

Preferred Qualification

  • Bachelor's Degree AND 10+ years of experience in product/service /project/program management

  • 6+ years people management experience.

  • Demonstrated experience creating and driving product strategy, delivering products at scal.e

  • Self-motivated, proactive and results-oriented.

  • 3+ years of product management experience working on OS, embedded systems or similarly deep technological areas.

  • 2+ years of experience in data analysis, AI, or product engineering.
