New York University Quantum Photonics Lab Postdoctoral Fellowship in Shanghai, China

The quantum photonics lab at NYU Shanghai is seeking a dynamic individual with a Ph.D. in physics, ECE, or a relevant field to join our cutting-edge quantum photonics research team.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct cutting-edge research on quantum photonics, focusing on quantum communication, quantum networking, and optical sensing.

  • Contribute to lab development and management.

  • Co-supervise graduate and undergraduate students.

  • Publish research papers in scientific journals and present results at conferences.

  • Encouraged: Write funding proposals as Principal Investigator (PI) or co-PI.

Terms of employment at NYU Shanghai (https://shanghai.nyu.edu/academics/faculty) are comparable to NYU New York and other U.S. institutions. The position will include a one year contract, with a possibility of renewal.

Key Qualifications:

  • PhD in Physics, ECE, or a relevant field

  • Strong hands-on experience in fiber optic experiments

  • Strong publication record at peer-reviewed journals

  • Desirable: Previous experience in coherent optical communication or continuous variable quantum communication

  • Desirable: Previous experience in optical lab management

  • Excellent communication skills in English; fluency in Chinese is desirable

Eligibility: Applicants must have a Ph.D. at the time of hiring.
