About the role

  • Play a key role in delivering the financial commitments of Penfolds China by providing commercial expertise, insights and thorough, fact-based decision-making.

  • Delivery of timely and accurate reported results and robust forecasts on a monthly, quarterly, annual and longer term basis as appropriate.

  • Work in partnership with commercial team to provide insight, business analysis and commercial decision support and value added analysis that will help influence decision making and maximise the value of current and future investment and portfolio management decisions

Reporting

Play a key role in managing the commercial financial analysis responsibilities of Greater China team:

  • Complete all closing and reporting requirements (e.g. forecasting) in an accurate, robust, practical and timely manner.

  • Analysis of actual performance focussing on key performance drivers.

  • Identify and analyse key issues, highlight trends

  • Ensure compliance with financial governance requirements.

Budgeting & Forecasting

Play a key role in the delivery of global Penfolds regular financial commitments:

  • Drive the development and completion of Annual Planning Budgets and Integrated Business Planning Forecasts in conjunction with the Sales and Demand Planning teams.

  • Identify opportunities to deliver financial commitments (e.g. stretch targets).

  • Identify risks and recommend mitigation activities to deliver financial commitments.

  • Ensure all deadlines are met and tasks completed in a robust manner.

  • Ensure consistent and logical assumptions are used in the planning processes.

  • Review and analyse the robustness of Demand plans prepared by Regional Business Managers.

D&R and Trade Terms management

Play a key role in the management of customers’ D&R and trade terms:

  • Closely work with SOP team to review customers’ rebate agreement, shipment/depletion target.

  • Drive the completion of half year and annual contractual rebate calculation and validation.

  • Drive investment review of all D&R activities, make sure ROI analysis is conducted.

  • Work closely with Sales team to make sure all the D&R claim is in line with process, all the supporting documents are compliance and sufficient.

Order Tracking and Update

Provide a key role to track and monitor order status until final stage:

  • Build up and analyse weekly order report.

  • Provide strong problem-solving skills with Sales, Demand planning, Allocation, China order, credit China team and warehouse team to make sure the whole order process is smooth.

  • Identify any order risks via this whole process and make sure quarterly, half year and year end landing will be smooth.

About you

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance

  • Certificate of Accounting Professional

  • 5+ years of financial and commercial experience within a major FMCG/Retail company

  • Demonstrated ability to influence cross-functional team members

  • Very strong analytical and strategic thinking skills

  • Strong problem solving skills

  • Effective planning and project management skills

  • Strong relationship building skills

  • A positive ‘Can Do’ attitude

  • Ability to act as an agent of change, constantly driving profitability

  • Strong commercial acumen

  • Advanced Excel and modelling skills

  • Experience with reporting systems and tools (OFA / Hyperion preferred but not essential)

  • Strong communication, influencing and negotiation skills

  • Ability to build and maintain relationships at all levels

  • Ability to multi-task, be highly driven and an achievements-focused performer

  • Ability to work independently, with minimal supervision, and drive decision making
