Penn State Shenango is accepting applications for Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) Adjunct Instructors.

Job Descriptions

Instructor: PT 201: Preparation for the national PTA licensure examination

This one-credit asynchronous online lecture course prepares the students to sit for the NPTE-PTA. The entire PTA curriculum will be reviewed, and practice exams will be implemented. The instructor must be proficient in teaching students about effective test-taking strategies and must be familiar with the content outline for the NPTE-PTA including case studies and videos. Required qualifications: graduate of an accredited PT/PTA program, earned a master’s degree or higher, licensed or eligible for licensure in the state of Pennsylvania, a minimum of 5 years of clinical practice (or within an academic setting) experience in curriculum design and implementation at the post-secondary level. Candidates must have the university-required clearances. Candidates who are members of the American Physical Therapy Association, have current knowledge, have experience in contemporary practice, and skill in information technology are preferred.

Instructor: PT 250: Procedures II

This in-person lecture and lab course covers wound care and the basic principles and application of ultrasound, electric stimulation, electromyographic biofeedback, and iontophoresis for the clinical management of patients and their specific disorders. This 3-credit course runs in the fall semester for nine weeks at _3.5 hours of lecture and 3.5 hours of lab weekly plus additional time for skills checks and/or laboratory exams as needed based on class size. The instructor must have a master’s degree or higher and have the university-required clearances. Required qualifications: graduate of an accredited PT/PTA program, earned a master’s degree, licensed or eligible for licensure in the state of Pennsylvania, a minimum of 5 years of clinical practice (or within an academic setting), experience in curriculum design and implementation at the post-secondary level. Candidates must have the university-required clearances. Candidates who are members of the American Physical Therapy Association, have current knowledge, have experience in contemporary practice, and skill in information technology are preferred.
