CAMP Y-KODA 2024 Summer Day Camp Counselor in SHEBOYGAN FALLS, Wisconsin
JOB REQUIREMENTS: A better us starts with YOU! Be a child\'s hero this upcoming summer. We are looking for compassionate individuals who want to impact youth, be adventerous, and embrace the spirit of camp. Our counselors are assigned and lead a different group of children (between ages 4-16) each week and follow a pre-planned weekly schedule. We have many activities at Camp Y-Koda including, but not limited to: ranged sports, a high ropes course, lake with kayaks and canoes, a small swimming pool, arts and crafts center, campfire making and more. Our 80-acre property is a branch of the Sheboygan County YMCA. Our summer program is 95% outdoors rain, shine or snow! For more information please visit our website. Meet and collaborate with agency personnel, community organizations, and other professional personnel to plan balanced recreational programs for participants. Encourage participants to develop their own activities and leadership skills through group discussions. Meet with staff to discuss rules, regulations, and work-related problems. Confer with management to discuss and resolve participant complaints. Greet new arrivals to activities, introducing them to other participants, explaining facility rules, and encouraging participation. Evaluate recreation areas, facilities, and services to determine if they are producing desired results. Direct special activities or events, such as aquatics, gymnastics, or performing arts. Explain principles, techniques, and safety procedures to participants in recreational activities and demonstrate use of materials and equipment. Complete and maintain time and attendance forms and inventory lists. Administer first aid according to prescribed procedures and notify emergency medical personnel when necessary. Organize, lead, and promote interest in recreational activities, such as arts, crafts, sports, games, camping, and hobbies. ***** OTHER EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS: Must be age 18 or older. Must have a high school diploma/GED/ or able to provide transcripts. Must be willing to get CPR and/or Lifeguard Certified. Must be able to work in all weather conditions such as rain or 70-90 degree weather. Must have the physical ability to lead and participate in camp and outdoor recreation sporting activities.
