At Carton Service CSI, LLC in Shelby, Ohio, the Finishing Department Gluing Operator plays a crucial role in the final stages of production within our manufacturing facility. They are responsible for operating and maintaining machinery used in the gluing process to ensure the quality and timely completion of products.
Key Responsibilities:
- Machine Operation: Operate and monitor gluing machinery efficiently according to established procedures and safety guidelines. Sets up and operates straight-line gluers, inner cell, 4 corner and 6 corner gluers: and related peripheral/supporting equipment for the purpose of manufacturing folded and glued cartons.
- Material Preparation: Prepare materials required for the gluing process, including adhesives, substrates, and other components, ensuring accuracy and adherence to specifications.
- Quality Control: Conduct regular quality checks on finished products to ensure they meet company standards and customer expectations. Identify and address any defects or irregularities promptly.
- Troubleshooting: Troubleshoot and resolve issues that may arise during the gluing process, such as equipment malfunctions, material inconsistencies, or deviations from production schedules.
- Maintenance and Cleaning: Perform routine maintenance tasks on machinery to ensure optimal performance and longevity. Keep work area clean and organized to maintain a safe and efficient working environment.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of production activities, including machine settings, material usage, and production volumes which will be populated into our ERP system.
- Communication: Coordinate with other team members, supervisors, and support staff to ensure smooth workflow and timely completion of orders. Communicate any concerns or suggestions for process improvement to appropriate personnel.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures while operating machinery and handling materials. Report any safety hazards or incidents to supervisors immediately.
