Description

We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Controller in Shelbyville, Indiana. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing the full lifecycle of accounting functions for a construction company. Duties will include performing month-end closes, managing budget processes, and supervising a small accounting team. This hands-on role requires the ability to perform both managerial and operational tasks.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee and manage the full accounting lifecycle in a construction setting.

• Execute month-end close procedures and deliverables, including journal entries and reconciliations.

• Develop, implement, and manage budget processes.

• Supervise and provide guidance and support as necessary.

• Perform audits to ensure compliance with industry regulations and standards.

• Maintain a hands-on role to ensure the accuracy and timeliness of financial reports and statements.

• Implement and maintain internal control systems to support the financial infrastructure.

• Collaborate with various teams and departments to share financial data and assist in decision-making processes.

• Utilize accounting software and systems to streamline processes and improve efficiency.

Requirements

• Comprehensive understanding of Accounting Functions

• Familiarity with Budget Processes

• Proficiency in Month End Close tasks

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a controller/manager role or similar

• Excellent communication and leadership skills

• Strong organizational and planning abilities

• Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy in work

• Proficiency in relevant accounting software and applications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field

• Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive financial information
