Summary

The Business Development Manager provides significant expertise in sourcing, targeting and winning new business by identifying and building solid, high-level relationships with our target customer and distributorship community.

The post holder will possess a thorough understanding on the implementation of internal governance procedures and gated processes in order to maintain the integrity, accuracy and control of the sales process.

This position is pivotal to opportunity capture, business growth and understanding the competitiveness required in order to translate enquiry to revenue.

Responsibilities

  • Research and develop a detailed and thorough understanding of the competitive landscape and market requirements to ensure that all sales opportunities are fully explored and captured.

  • Develop brand promotion and customer intimacy strategies at a cross-functional, peer-to-peer level in order to ensure Parker Meggitt visibility, confidence and presence within the customer and product end-user community.

  • Build, manage and sustain a substantial pipeline of potential sales and ensure that all activity is accurately documented and maintained.

  • Build business cases for the targeted elements of the pipeline and win strategies to include manufacturing and inventory strategy in order to deliver sales translation.

  • Master technical understanding of the product such that field operations are understood and value-add revenue opportunities are converted.

  • Create, prepare and deliver in a timely and organised manner, professional responses to tenders and requests for proposals, presentations, contracts and other documentation as required. Lead and co-ordinate subsequent customer negotiations.

  • Develop and produce regular sales reports, key performance indicators, and communicate within the business. Compose and distribute minutes of meetings held to coordinate and progress sales activities.

Qualifications

  • Five+ years of relevant experience within Aerospace industry is required.

  • Background and experience as a Business Development Manager or customer facing role is essential.

  • Thorough understanding and expertise in business development.

  • Ability to influence stakeholders.

  • Proven consultative selling skills to develop attractive value propositions.

  • Strong leadership and effective interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to solve complex problems, taking a new perspective on existing solutions and exercising judgment based on the analysis of multiple sources of information.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Ability to develop strategic plans to grow the business.

  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook, and web-browsers.

  • Some of the travel will be required for the role.
