Service Market Logistics (SML), part of Volvo Group Trucks Operations, serves all brands and business areas by managing and optimizing service parts availability and distribution to secure customer uptime. SML North America (NA) is a part of SML and has about 1,000 employees across the United States, Canada and Mexico. We operate the Central Distribution Center in Byhalia, MS as well as Regional Distribution Centers across the NA region.

The Customs Trade Export Control Intern position will be responsible for working with the Customs Trade Export Control North America team, to support daily operations and projects, while learning about international trade and regulatory compliance.

Who are you?

  • During the internship, the student will remain engaged and fully supportive of Customs Trade Export Control NA’s strategic objectives.

  • Successfully complete scheduled training regarding basic importing, exporting, and compliance topics.

  • Assist Customs Trade Export Control, Master Data Classification with any necessary projects and day to day operational activities.

  • Assist Customs Trade Export Control, Master Data Country of Origin with relevant projects, research and day to day activities

  • Applicant must be currently enrolled and pursuing a business administration degree at an accredited school and have completed 30 semester hours of undergraduate studies prior to the start of the internship.

  • Fall Interns may work up to 30 hours per week and must be enrolled as full-time student.

  • Applicants must have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.75.

For all intern and co-op positions, the hourly range is set at $16.00 - $46.00. The hourly rate for these roles is determined by several factors including, but not limited to, geographic location, academic classification, and degree seeking area of study.
