Join our team at the Wet Ones manufacturing plant in Sidney, Ohio! This exceptional opportunity will oversee our 1st Shift Production teammates. Relocation assistance is available.

POSITION OVERVIEW:

  • Supervise all 1st shift personnel to meet operations requirements. Responsible for process improvement, training, quality, set-up assistance, monitors jobs to completion, and general plant operations. This includes all manufacturing lines, compounding/ batching department and Non-Woven.

  • Understands and directs safety, cGMP, housekeeping, cleaning, and sanitation and environmental initiatives within assigned area in FDA regulated facility. Promotes, understands, and directs 5S and Lean Manufacturing efforts for positive and sustainable results.

PRINCIPAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Exhibit strong leadership abilities

  • Supply department employees with daily schedules, goals, and overall performance matrixes to support overall business goals, and understands importance of labor utilization

  • Monitor department work processes to ensure safety practices, high quality, and cost effectiveness, and meets safety, quality and productivity targets associated with them

  • Responsible for the accurate completion and maintenance of Production Records.

  • Adapts to change, anticipates problems, and develops a plan.

  • Collaborates with Quality, Planning, Warehouse, and other areas to create a partnership to remove barriers and accomplish goals.

  • Develop colleagues to meet training and staffing requirements of department, including specifically the training and support for lead operators

  • Ensure correct implementation and documentation of department SOP files, cleaning and housekeeping procedures

  • Enforce all cGMP & Lean 5S rules within work area

  • Have a continuous improvement mindset to identify and implement continuous improvement projects within department

  • Enforce all company policies and procedures, including cGMP/FDA and other regulatory requirements

  • Conduct investigations and audits to identify root causes, initiate appropriate preventative measures failure investigations, and put corrective actions into place

  • Evaluate the performance of colleagues and celebrate successes

  • Provide regular encouragement and feedback, both formal and informal

  • Responsible for effective, consistent delivery of progressive discipline

  • Interface with operations superintendent and planning departments as needed, to schedule and expedite jobs

  • Responsible for the spending and manufacturing variances within work area

  • Perform any additional job-related duties as requested

  • Produce a quality product in a safe, clean environment, on time and in the right quantity

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in manufacturing, technology, or engineering

  • Leadership and team building skills

  • Minimum 5 years supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably FDA

  • Good technical understanding of mechanical skills

  • Basic knowledge in SAP, Microsoft office software and Quality Tracking Management System (EQMS, TrackWise or similar)

  • Strong communication skills

  • Computer skills

SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITIES / DECISION MAKING

  • Responsible for production personnel

  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment.

WORKING RELATIONSHIPS

  • Site personnel, contractors and regulatory agencies

WORK ENVIRONMMENT

  • Some travel may be required for training, etc.

  • Work on night shifts and weekends required.

  • Exposure to health risks or conditions that may require the use of Personal Protective Equipment.

The salary range for this position is $68,000 - $102,000. Actual base salary offered to a candidate may vary based upon factors including, but not limited to, relevant experience, time in role, base salary of internal peers, prior performance, business sector, and geographic location. In addition to base salary, the competitive compensation package may include, depending on the role, participation in an incentive program linked to performance.
