Job Title: Sanitation Driver (CDL)

Full-Time position - 40 hours per week

Salary: $24.00 per hour

Schedule: Monday through Friday, 7:00 am - 3:30 pm

Leisure World of Maryland Corporation (LWMC) the property management company for Leisure World of Maryland a private, age-restricted community comprised of 29 housing associations and 8,000 residents located in Montgomery County, Maryland seeks a full-timeSanitation Driver (CDL)to assist in the collection of solid waste and recyclable materials ensuring that safety and quality customer service standards are met.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS and BASIC DUTIES:

• Safely operates a heavy-duty truck to assigned routes through the collection and hauling of solid waste.
• Performs pre-and- post-trip inspection of the vehicle, documenting and reporting any mechanical or safety issues.
• Operates vehicle in a safe manner in compliance with OSHA, DOT, local, state, federal, and company requirements.
• Courteously interacts with customers, both internal and external, ensuring customers are serviced in a professional and timely manner.
• Safely lifts and loads refuse/recycling completely emptying trash/recycling receptacles into the vehicle, leaving the area clean of debris, while monitoring waste for evidence of unacceptable materials.
• Replaces solid waste receptacles nearly at the curb or designated area.
• Reports service issues, such as blocked alleyways, over-weight receptacles, safety hazards, or impassible streets to the supervisor.
• Immediately notifies supervisor of any accident, injuries, or property damage.
• Clears waste from packer blade and truck body on each trip to disposal site/recycling facility.
• Cleans trucks as scheduled/required.
• All other duties as assigned.

CERTIFICATE/LICENSE

Current valid commercial driver's license(CDL)with a clean driving record.

DOT Medical Card.

EDUCATION

HS Diploma/GED-Required

YEARS AND TYPE OF EXPERIENCE

Minimum three (3) years of experience as a Recycling Driver

KNOWLEDGE and SKILLS

• Ability to read and understand directions.
• Customer service-oriented
• Ability to manage time.
• Ability to communicate effectively.

• Ability to work in all weather conditions and perform physical requirements of the job including repetitive lifting, pushing, pulling, bending, and climbing.
• Requires ability to lift, carry, push or pull medium weights, up to 75 pounds.
• Requires activities involving being around moving machinery, exposure to marked changes in temperatures and humidity, and exposure to residential and commercial waste.
