WTW Climate Transition Risk Consultant in Singapore, Singapore

The Role

As a Transition Climate Risk Consultant, you will work with a variety of clients across all economic sectors that are exposed to climate risk, including public listed and large private companies, as well as governments and development banks. You will identify and quantify climate transition risk and design risk management and financing strategies. You will be involved in many aspects of such advice, from risk quantification to mitigation and risk financing design, and ensure the analysis undertaken is policy and business relevant.

You will be entering a growing team at our Asia-Pacific Climate Risk Centre, with scope to contribute to its development.

Day to day tasks will include:

  • Application of our Climate Quantified approach to transition risk (through cashflow modelling, sector research, and entity level analysis).

  • Undertake rigorous qualitative and quantitative analysis and evaluation of energy, land use, and economic transition policies and energy infrastructure financing.

  • Synthesize and analyze large datasets, efficiently and effectively using quantitative and business modelling tools.

  • Produce high-quality materials such as numerical analysis, written documents and presentations to short deadlines.

The Requirements

  • An insightful, independent, analytical mind, with a passion for climate change issues.

  • Ability to reveal insights from quantitative and qualitative datasets.

  • A business, financial and strategic mindset.

  • Good understanding of the climate risk agenda and ESG-related regulatory landscape.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to communicate methods, results and recommendations from complex analysis to expert and non-technical audiences.

  • Experience in data and/or consulting roles.

  • Experience related to energy or climate change related policies would be advantageous.

  • Degree in climate change, environmental science/economics or management, engineering or other academic field relevant to climate change.

  • Self-starter, ability to juggle multiple complex tasks at the same time.

  • Professionalism, enthusiasm for working as part of a team, and ability to interact with a diverse group of people.
