Head of Renewable Energy, Facultative, Asia

What the day will look like

  • Build a regional team to establish the Specialization investing in local resources, identifying, and attracting new talent if needed.

  • Perform a Reinsurance Market assessment/sizing in the region to capture the opportunity ahead.

  • Review in detail current portfolio and ongoing year plan, establish, manage, and grow Asia regional pipeline to meet the year growth targets/goals. Coordinate efficient monthly pipeline update and reporting from local “in Country” and Line of Business (LOB)’s local leaders and specialty local resources to local client services/operations teams at monthly forecast time (mid of each month) which in turn will be reported to regional operations / leadership team. The pipeline becoming an actual commercial and sales management tool.

  • Develop, lead, and take responsibility for the Asia region’s Facultative revenue growth strategies within the Reinsurance area of Renewable Energy, including construction & operational risks, as well as onshore & offshore risks.

  • Strategic Specialty broking support and business strategy must be provided, management of overall business flow with available placing resources. Reinsurance carrier contact details known on this specialty to support very large or complex placement completion.

  • Regional leverage using information and regional mindset, facilities design, value proposition and product information within the Specialty.

    Skills and experience that will lead to success

  • Strong wholesale broking team leadership and winning new client leadership positioned in major broking hubs around the world in this field of expertise.

  • Strong track record of establishing business plans and executing the plan, ability to translate strategy into actionable plans and focused on execution.

  • Well connected across international markets; particularly those in Asia & London with senior influencing. skills; ability to work collaboratively and in cooperation with various stakeholders.

  • Understanding of the various risk areas, including emerging risk concerns such as hydrogen risk.

  • Experience of major renewable client interaction & handling will be a positive, coming out of the broking activity / trusted advisor skills.
