Position Summary

Welcome to SAPs Student Training & Rotation (STAR) Program, an SAP globally run, integrated work-study program. The technical track provides a unique opportunity for students studying Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or Data Science to gain broader real-world experiences while completing the remaining 18 months of undergraduate studies.

Through the program, students will gain hands-on experience in different development areas such as DevOps, GenAI, full stack development, etc. This paid rotational training program will give students a head start in building their careers in tech companies such as SAP and achieving early success.

As a STAR student, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Rotate through various technical roles within different development teams.

  • Receive on-the-job and structured development, mentoring, and coaching from our managers and leaders.

  • Get paid to work full-time during school breaks, part-time during the academic year, or full-time over a semester to gain course credit.

  • Learn from our experienced mentors and start building your professional network early.

At the end of the program, participants will have the opportunity to:

  • Be considered for full-time job opportunities within the business that will challenge and grow your current capabilities,

  • Or admission to our prestigious, globally-recognized SAP Academy Programs.

What will SAP STAR students be doing?

STARs must complete at least three mandatory technical rotations within various development teams, including one with a 6-month full-time rotation. Examples include:

  • DevOps Engineer Focus on automating and streamlining the development, deployment, and operational processes. Managing CI/CD pipelines, optimizing infrastructure, and ensuring smooth and reliable software delivery.

  • AI/ML Engineer Design, develop, and implement machine learning models and AI solutions. Involve in data preprocessing, algorithm selection, model training, and deployment to solve complex business problems.

  • Full Stack Developer Work on both front-end and back-end development to build applications. Tasks include developing user interfaces, server-side logic, database management, and ensuring seamless integration between different application layers.

  • Data Engineer Design and construct data pipelines to collect, process, and store large datasets. Developing ETL processes, optimizing data storage, and ensuring data quality and accessibility for analytics.

Qualifications, Skills and Competencies

STAR Program candidates will be:

  • StudyingComputer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering or Data Science.

  • Have at least 18 months remaining until the completion of their studies.

  • Able to commit at least one 6-month full-time placement during the program. This can be through a credit-bearing internship, work-study attachment, or a leave of absence.

  • Willing and able to work 2 days per week (part-time) during the semester; 5 days per week (full-time) during study breaks.

  • Experience in one or more programming languages (e.g. Java, Python, C ,JavaScript, Node.js or others).

  • Familiarity with cloud services such as AWS, Google Cloud Platform, or Azure.

  • Familiar with Agile methodologies.

  • Problem-solvers who are fast learners, resilient, proactive, open-minded, have a growth mindset, and can handle pressure effectively.

  • Collaborative, and team-oriented.

  • Good communication skills in English.

  • You are currently studying in Singapore. Priority will be given to Singaporean/ Singapore PR.
