Job Summary
Responsible for direct patient care and supervising the care provided by other professional personnel. Assist manager in overall management of the unit. He/she is a key player in developing and implementing competencies and orientating new staff members. He/she assists with the multidisciplinary approach to achieve excellence and continuity of patient care with defined emphasis on formal and informal staff education and patient/family teaching.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, developing, training, and retaining employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Education and/or Experience
Graduate from a CCNE or NLN accredited nursing program is strongly preferred. Graduate from an approved nursing program is acceptable.
Bachelor's or Master’s degree in nursing required.
Two to three years of subspecialty care experience preferred.
Previous management experience preferred.
Licensure/Certification/Registration
Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of South Dakota and/or meeting the requirements of multi-state licensure required.
Strongly encouraged to complete life-saving education specific to specialty area.
Membership in professional organization preferred.
Work Schedule
Hours: Varied Shifts; 80hrs/2wks
Pay
The hourly range for this position is listed below. Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience.
$35.50 - $53.25 per hour
