Position Summary Information
Position Summary
As a professional employee, the associate director is required to maintain a comprehensive working knowledge of, and to maintain strict adherence to, the laws, rules, regulations and guidelines relative to all financial aid programs as set forth by the federal government, the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, the University and other private and public funding sources The associate director assists the director in coordinating financial aid packaging procedures and with award projections, award availability and packaging parameter development. Long range planning and predictive modeling are critical components of this position. Duties require decisions which may necessitate devising new methods or modifying or adapting standard principles and practices to new or changed conditions. The associate director assists in the supervision and training of all staff members and has direct supervisory responsibilities for staff working with the Federal Pell Grant Program, the Federal Work Study Program, State Work Study Program and the Verification process.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree
At least 3 years of experience working in financial aid
Successful performance in an on-campus interview
Applicants considered for this position must pass a criminal background check
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working with Banner.
Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
Experience working with diverse populations
