Food Service Cook:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Must be at least 21 years old
- Must be able to read and write the English Language
- Must have a minimum of 1 year of work experience in food preparation such as school lunch program, hospital food preparation or nursing home food preparation.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES
- Prepare nutritional meals and snacks.
- Consult with the Executive Director and the Fiscal Director in meal preparation and purchasing.
- Clean cooking equipment, food storage, and food preparation areas with the exception of the floors.
- Prepare necessary food and supply list for shopping or ordering in a timely manner.
- Be aware of alternate food that needs to be prepared for children with food allergies.
- Participate in support staff meetings and training when applicable.
- Supervise volunteers or aides assigned to kitchen duties.
- Prepare all required food program reports in a timely manner.
- Provide the Fiscal Director with all required reports and receipts.
- Attend food program workshops and seminars when applicable.
- Participate in all center related activities as a team member.
- On food activity days help the education specialist with preparation of the supplies for the snack activity, and prepare the snack for the nurseries.
- Maintain a good attitude and work as a team with other kitchen and housekeeping staff.
- Help provide a pleasant work environment.
- Report any problems or concerns to the Executive Director.
