Program Summary

KBR leads the government services world contingency market by providing responsive, full-service logistics support to forces deployed around the world under the Logistics Civil Augmentation Program contract (LOGCAP). KBR’s enduring mission support of the LOGCAP program dates back to 1992 when we served as the contract’s original prime contractor. Today, we have a workforce of over 6,000 people representing 40 nationalities who perform work on the contract in 14 countries.

Job Summary

The Senior Logistics Support Specialist-SSA is responsible for providing expert-level support in logistics and supply chain operations within the SSA (Supply Support Activity) Operations. This role involves coordinating and overseeing various aspects of logistics to ensure efficient and timely delivery of goods and materials. The Senior Specialist will collaborate with internal teams, external partners, and stakeholders to optimize logistics processes and contribute to the overall success of the organization's supply chain efforts.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with internal teams to understand logistics requirements and align operational activities accordingly.

  • Work closely with external partners, suppliers, and stakeholders to optimize supply chain processes and improve overall efficiency.

  • Prepare necessary documents and reports.

  • Must have or obtain hazard certifications: HAZ 12 & HAZ 15.

  • Must have or obtain Technical Transportation of Hazardous Materials certification.

  • Utilize best practices in logistics and contribute to the development and enhancement of standard operating procedures.

  • Monitor and track shipments, ensuring timely delivery and resolving any issues that may arise during the transportation process.

  • Provide guidance on logistics matters, including compliance with regulations, transportation methods, and inventory management.

  • Communicate effectively with various stakeholders to provide updates on logistics activities and address concerns promptly.

  • Contribute to the strategic planning of logistics initiatives to support organizational goals.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Basic Qualifications (Required Education, Experience, Skills, and Certifications)

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen or a U.S. Green Card holder.

  • Must be able to pass a U.S. Government background investigation and obtain a NACI.

  • Must have a High School Diploma or equivalent and at least 3 years of directly related logistics experience.

  • Must be proficient in the use of the GCSS-A system, especially transaction codes related to Receipt and Issue/Storage processes.

  • Must be proficient in running a storage section in an SSA utilizing GCSS-A.

  • Requires the ability to multitask and work with little or no supervision.

  • Must have the ability to lift 50 pounds and perform physical tasks such as walking, bending, reaching, and carrying.

  • Must have a valid Driver’s License.

  • Requires a valid passport with at least 12 months of validity and 6 blank pages.

Preferred Qualifications (Preferred Education, Experience, Skills, and Certifications)

  • Certification in logistics or supply chain management.

  • Experience working in diverse and challenging environments.

  • Familiarity with international trade compliance and regulations.

  • Advanced proficiency in logistics and supply chain management software.

  • Ability to lead and mentor junior logistics professionals.
