We currently have an opportunity for aMachine Operator 3 (Crew 4)at our manufacturing facility inSouth Boston, Virginia.

Pay: $22.10 / Hour

Your Role:

You will act as a resource and provide support to the Manufacturing teams and their processes. Accurately and completely document and maintain inspection and test record files in accordance with Product Quality Plans.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for maintaining acceptable production levels and quality

  • Perform quality checks according to PQP every 30 minutes and make minor adjustments as needed.

  • Develop communication channel with TPM team, shift responders, process specialists, team members, team leaders, and shift leaders and report any problems.

  • Initiate back check procedure for defective product for gluer and top level of current pallet.

  • Notify shift inspector if product is finished pallets, need to be back-checked or put on hold.

  • Participate in activities related to training, safety, quality, cost improvements, production reporting, and production efficiency improvements.

  • Be able to start up/shut down machines.

  • Put up a bubble, perform a screen change.

  • Perform blade changes.

  • Perform minor adjustments/maintenance on drawstring line

  • Be able to thread and calibrate draw tape.

  • Perform printer cleaning.

  • Add ink and check PH Viscosity

  • Must be able to demonstrate all on and offline quality checks.

  • Maintain good housekeeping and safety practices.

  • Must pass ruler assessment.

  • Supply information required to fill out production reports.

  • Responsible for maintaining personal conditioning to physically perform essential job functions

  • Identify non-conforming product and complete a back check procedure for the quality defect.

  • Other duties as deemed necessary by your or shift leader.

  • Responsible to comply with the SQF and GMP practices and programs to ensure safe food packaging product and to report food safety problems to those with authority to take action.

We need you to have:

  • Ability to understand the elementary operation of rewind and packaging equipment

  • Appreciation of how to work in a machine-paced operation

  • Ability to appreciate and identify health and safety hazards associated with equipment operation

  • Ability to perform minor clerical tasks

Icing on the cake:

  • No formal schooling is required, but it is preferred

  • Prior experience in a manufacturing facility
