Purpose

Are you ready to make a difference in your community and enjoy working outdoors? We are looking for a dedicated Meter Reader to join our union team. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys interacting with the public and ensuring accuracy in their work.

Accountabilities

  • Accurately read meters, verify meter numbers, locations, and instructions

  • Perform necessary surveys as required by the utility

  • Identify and report tampered, inverted electric meters, and broken meter seats

  • Engage with customers professionally, courteously, and respectfully

  • Approach work with a safety-first mindset

  • Perform other responsibilities as requested by leadership and as outlined in the collective bargaining agreement

Education and Experience

  • Must pass a meter reading aptitude test and physical ability test

  • Strong ability to interact professionally with the public

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively

  • Sharp eye for accuracy and detail

  • Willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions

  • Familiarity with Company Safety Rules is essential

  • Ability to navigate and thrive in changing and challenging work environments

Compensation

Meter Reader Union Rate - $30.72 per hour
