What you’ll do:

As the Engineering Manager - PDS , you will be responsible for effective leadership, administration, and professional direction of the South Molton site’s Post Develoment Service (PDS) team. The team will consist of a mix of Project Engineers and Design Engineers. You also will be responsible for support to the South Molton operations team for legacy product, support to obsolescence, cost out and deviations for existing product lines through sound execution of engineering principles and processes. There will also be an element of support to the Titchfield NPI team for new product development to ensure continuous improvement of products based on legacy lessons learned.

Job Responsibilities:

•Leading an engineering team to deliver high quality technical deliverables on time, providing culture of accountability and technical advise & guidence to the team.

Creating opportunities for growth and development and improving employee satisfaction, product expertise, etc.

•Utilizing EBS tools and processes to drive predictive performance on PDS products activities, practicing industry best practice processes and tools for engineering tasks and monitoring team to assure adherence to defined processes.

•Leading execution of PDS activities leveraging ACES and ProLaunch processes where required, methodologies, and deliverables across all the Legacy Airframe products.

•Assigning and Managing PDS resources to ensure productivity, on-time delivery and first-pass quality of engineered products and deliverables and monitoring key engineering metrics and implements improvements accordingly.

•Developing and fostering close professional relationships with customers and operations teams supporting deviations, obsolescence and cost out activities.

•Leading proposal efforts including generation of Non-Recurring Engineering (NRE) estimates, Bills of Material for Recurring Cost (RC) estimates, and Capital Acquisition Requests for PDS projects.

•Executing PDS projects within the program milestone schedule and budget.

•Leveraging relationship across business functions including Program Management, Engineering Test, Quality, Supply Chain, Manufacturing/Operations, etc. to achieve successful on-time product support.

•Being responsible for monitoring and reporting out of key metrics to the daily site leadership meetings.

Qualifications:

  • Experiences Bachelor’s degree in engineering.

  • Minimum of 5 years in a similar Engineering environment.

  • Leadership or Manager experience desirable but not mandatory"

  • Experience with engineering processes/tools required

  • Experience supporting product development and sustainment programs required

Skills:

• Demonstrated leadership skills, experience with design processes and program management skills, successful new product introduction experience.

• Ability to develop and execute to project plans.

• Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication presentation skills and the ability to work well with customers and development team members

• Train and develop engineers
