HTD Global Engineer - Mfg in Spokane Valley, Washington

Description The Sr MFG Engineer position will provide manufacturing engineering support to facilitate the successful development of new systems and products, or modifications and revisions to current systems and products. The Sr MFG Engineering position offers a variety of engineering opportunities including fixture design, analysis, 3D modeling, plant layout, line layout, process evaluation, machine programming, and testing. Position is 100% on-site. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Contributes to team efforts by accomplishing related results in a cooperative and supportive manner. Analyze production processes, schedules, methods, and other data, and then provide management with reports containing the data and statistics to enable management to better understand future requirements needed for the manufacturing process. Create/edit models and drawings using SolidWorks. Create/edit routings, work cells, and BOM's using SAP software. Design various fixtures for process improvements. Review engineering drawings for manufacturability; review Engineering Change Orders. Partner with design engineering to provide input in the manufacturability of product and drive through production. Optimize work cells and shop floor utilizing LEAN principals, tools, and methods. Adhere to company practices and ISO processes. Interpret specific system and product design requirements which ensure conformance to functional, customer, and operations/manufacturing criteria. Interface internally with all facility associates, management, and staff. Interface externally with customers and/or vendors for the purpose of furnishing, obtaining and/or clarifying information. Provide engineering program/project technical support to both internal and external customers. Communicates clearly (written and oral) with other company personnel, the customer, and vendors as required. Adheres to all quality and safety standards. Supports other projects and performs duties as assigned. Support, communicate, reinforce and defend the mission, values and culture of the organization. EDUCATION/WORK EXPERIENCE/OTHER REQUIREMENTS: BS degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering/Technology, or similar. 3-5 years' experience in similar technical role. Military/ defense experience preferred. Product development experience- concept through production release. Experience in a sheet metal and metal fabrication production environment using primarily steel and aluminum alloys. Prior experience with MIL-PRF-32675 and MIL-810 Environmental Testing preferred. Container Safety Certification (CSC) testing and/or background a plus. Experience design weld fixtures and other assembly improvement fixtures Experience in DFMA analysis, time study, and test reports preferred Effective oral and written communication skills. Good interpersonal skills. Routinely punctual. Mechanically inclined and able to problem solve with little information. Ability to work autonomously, prioritize work assignments, and multi-task to meet deadlines. Ability to offer their own opinions and commentaries while being flexible and responsive to constructive feedback by managers and peers. Application of technical principles/techniques from established practices, as well as a functional knowledge/understanding of mechanical engineering processes, techniques, and practices to quickly/accurately perceive the fit, form, function, and manufacturability of design.
