WorkSource Oregon Finish End Salaried Supervisor in Springfield, Oregon

Job Duties: - Oversee finishing activities to meet planned production requirements. - Coordinate daily run schedule with all required finish end machine centers. - Film press \' coordinate proper blanks and overlay paper to make the products desired. - Coordinate with shipping department and Shipping Supervisor to receive and ship materials as required. - Ensure proper finishing, packaging and labeling of all finished goods to meet customer required specifications. - Manage and organize daily WIP and FG\'s inventory. - Maintain set standard for orderliness and organization of department. - Utilize the principles of performance improvement to identify issues and/or opportunities that if modified or corrected will improve results. - Work with QC to troubleshoot quality manufacturing issues for finish end and educate leads and employees. - Training & Mentoring \' Be a coach and mentor to all positions supervised; give direction on areas of growth and needed training. Coordinate with Plant Superintendent to conduct in house and external training. - Take the lead in safety. Ensure that all workers under his/her supervision are given adequate safety training, coaching and proper tools to safely do the job. - Promote safety awareness. Ensure proper use of lockout/tagout/retry and PPE. - Coordinate major repair and maintenance schedules with maintenance and electrical staff. - Policies & Procedures \' Support and promote company policies and procedures while encouraging positive behavior in each member of the finish end and shipping team. - Visually identify defects and grades associated with WIP. - Other duties as assigned. Non-Essential Functions: - Run machinery when needed and only when you have been fully trained on the machinery. - Assist in the training of employee advancement. Job Requirements: - A bachelor\'s degree (minimum HS Diploma) or 3 years of supervisory experience in plywood manufacturing. - Computer skills \' experience with Excel, Word, and presentation software (PowerPoint) - Excellent communication skills; both written and verbal with all levels of the company from hourly, supervisors, vendors, and management. The communication needs to be direct without being confrontational and needs to accurately assess areas in need of improvement without exaggerating the gravity of the issue. - Analytical skills \' experience utilizing Quality Systems, statistical sampling, and utilizing data to see trends. - Training skills \' To train, educate foreman, supervisors, leads and employees. Present training and education via job guides, SOP\'s, and/or PowerPoint presentations. - Tools \' proficient with micrometer and tape measure. - Experience working with little supervision, self-directed in identifying and efficiently completing each task. Wages & Hours: - Full time, 50 hours a week - Salary \$65,000.00 annually
