Join our forward-thinking local health office to help make our 16-community public health district (parts of Windham and Windsor counties) a healthy place to live, learn, work, play, and worship. Position involves supervision of program staff. This is an exciting opportunity to oversee community level immunization and infectious disease prevention efforts, with a focus on improving health equity. The Public Health Nurse Supervisor plans, supervises, organizes, coordinates and reviews the work of staff performing a full range of professional nursing practice promoting and protecting the health of populations using knowledge from nursing as well as social and public health sciences, including the delivery of clinical, community, field and population based intervention; licensed care management; data collection and analysis; program planning; outreach and health promotion activities at all levels of prevention in connection with the mitigation of diseases and the development of healthy lifestyles; and performs related duties as assigned. The position reports to the District Director and is a member of the Springfield District leadership team. Environmental Factors

Duties may be performed in a variety of settings including but not limited to clinics loca tions and office. Incumbents may be exposed to infectious diseases and bloodborne pathogens. Essential skills include the personal ability to endure stress, act judiciously in personally acting upon or directing others in emergency situations, demonstrate knowledge of and ability to apply techniques for varying behaviors, including, but not limited to physical and verbal aggression. Exposure to personal injury or danger may occur based on the patient population and the specialty setting. Ability to meet minimum physical abilities as defined by the setting including, but not limited to extensive periods of standing, walking, sitting, repetitive motion, bending, twisting, pushing, pulling and lifting. Duties may include travel and use of personal vehicle.
