About The Position
The Engineer performs engineering studies, design, and project management activities for new and existing power generation plant systems. This position has primary responsibility for supporting Missouri Regulated Generation Non-Nuclear plants with travel required.
Key responsibilities include:
Manage and/or support projects involving electrical equipment and related systems.
Develop engineering solutions, cost and schedule estimates, and preliminary designs associated with initial development and budgeting of projects. Upon project authorization, perform detailed design and work with drafting to complete drawings, prepare requisitions and specifications for equipment and construction contracts, analyze proposals, produce cost and schedule estimates, and assist or lead in the planning and coordination of projects. Lead the checkout and start-up of the new equipment.
Provide engineering assistance to energy centers and other departments within the company on activities requiring experience and expertise with electrical systems.
Interface with industry contacts and outside corporations, including consultants, contractors, and their employees.
Qualifications
Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering from an accredited college or university required. Electrical Engineering degree preferred. PE License preferred. PMP certificate also preferred. Five or more years of relevant engineering experience preferred. Experience managing, supervising, or leading people preferred. Experience with low/medium/high voltage electrical equipment, including but not limited to switchgear, MCCs, motors, transformers, buses, etc., preferred Experience with protective relaying preferred. Experience with arc flash analysis and electrical modeling preferred.
In addition to the above qualifications, the successful candidate will demonstrate:
Must possess excellent analytical, communication, computer, human relations, and leadership skill. Travel between power plants and the EDPM and outside of the St. Louis area required. Subject to call-outs, nights, weekends and/or holiday work to support power plants.
