Robert Half Sr. Accountant in Stamford, Connecticut

Description

We are looking to hire a Sr. Accountant in the Financial Services industry, based in Stamford, Connecticut. This role involves comprehensive management of accounting tasks, detailed analysis and reporting, and effective liaison with external entities.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct fund accounting, including analysis and reporting on investment performance

• Oversee private equity fund controllership, including reporting and maintaining financial relations with portfolio companies

• Handle accounting, analysis, and reporting for direct investments and co-investments

• Manage cash flow for the operating entity and private foundation

• Perform trust accounting and maintain accurate records

• Prepare and present quarterly reports and analysis on investment pools and performance

• Coordinate with outside tax preparation firms, assisting in reconciliation of source tax information and reviewing tax returns

• Oversee all aspects of accounting, reporting, and tax preparation support for various investment entities

• Manage accounting, cash flow reporting, and cash flow management of internal family private equity funds

• Track and report capital calls for investments in hedge funds, private equity funds, and direct investments

• Maintain general ledgers for all assigned entities and individual family members

• Liaise with external tax preparation firm to support tax estimation, K-1 preparation for internal entities, and final filings.

Requirements • Applicant must possess proven experience in the Professional Services industry.

• Proficiency in Account Reconciliation, Balance Sheet Reconciliation, and Bank Reconciliations is necessary.

• Demonstrated expertise in managing General Ledger and Journal Entries.

• Applicant should have excellent skills in Microsoft Excel.

• Experience in Month End Close is required.

• Experience in Family Office and Private Equity Fund management is a plus.

• Knowledge and understanding of Private Equity will be advantageous.

• The role requires strong analytical skills and attention to detail.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are necessary.

• The candidate should have the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• A bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required.

• Professional certification such as CPA is preferred.

• The candidate must have strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound decisions based on accurate and timely analyses.

• High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation is expected.
