Ford Motor Company Vehicle Engineering - Plant Vehicle Team in Stanton, Tennessee
Be part of the proud team to deliver Ford quality and be the final sign off on an all new electric vehicle performance before it goes to the customers. For this position you will have primary responsibility for delivering Powertrain NVH and Vehicle Dynamics (ride, handling, alignment, tires, vehicle vibrates). You will work with a strong team of other Ford PVT engineers at the plant.
The assembly plant is a dynamic and changing environment. Rarely will one find two days to be the same. This position offers the ability to directly impact and improve vehicle quality and improve customer satisfaction on a daily basis. The work is exciting, challenging, and most of all rewarding as you are part of the team delivering a great vehicle.
Our PVT teams are located across the world at all of our assembly plants. You will join that community and have the ability to interface with other regions when faced with similar challenges. The position has a direct tie and interfaces directly to our global product development team located at our brand new, state-of-the-art TEVC facility in Stanton,TN.
Position is based in Stanton, TN following a 12-18 month travel requirement to Louisville, KY.
What you'll do…
Root cause disposition of any vehicle level issues to respective functional engineering activities
Lead local powertrain noise and vehicle dynamics/chassis to meet stringent quality target (customer surveys and warranty)
Lead on any related product holds (Stop ships, campaigns, quality issues, etc.)
Work directly with hourly personnel, engineers, suppliers and all levels of company management
On site launch lead for powertrain NVH attributes
On site launch lead for vehicle dynamics attributes
Lead alignment data analysis and alignment setting
Lead tire room quality and process improvements
Champion quality status by monitoring early warranty claims, binning claims, contact dealerships on parts, submit requests to ship parts to suppliers for root cause evaluation
Support Plant cost reduction and quality improvement efforts
Chair / support local and Dearborn-based Vehicle Engineering / Product Development team meetings
Support engineering change trials
Identify emerging issues and react quickly to scope issue
Lead/Support vehicle evaluation drives
Manage online quality systems with project inputs, project health, and glidepaths
Lead onsite quality management reviews
Minimal travel will be required for the job to support supplier visits and out of state drive events
You'll have…
Bachelors degree in Engineering or related field.
Skilled at trouble shooting and methodical data analysis, analytical skills are a must. Statistical knowledge is a must.
Must have strong vehicle evaluation, driving, and assessment skills
Ability to work with and lead assembly plant / supplier team to implement changes required for vehicle improvement
Highly motivated self-starter who can work autonomously as well as lead a team toward common goal
Communication skills are key, must give clear and accurate direction to all team members and management, and speak confidently
Must be able to multi-task and adapt quickly to changing needs and direction
Thrives and enjoys working in a plant environment

Master’s degree is preferred
Preferred minimum of 3 years Vehicle Engineering, including NVH and/or vehicle dynamics NVH experience
6-sigma black belt certified
Assembly or production plant experience
Data acquisition hardware and software knowledge

This position is a range of salary grades 5-8 .
