Job Summary/Objective:
The primary responsibility of the Sr. Specialist, Corporate Materials is to direct materials management to manufacturing facilities. The individual will represent the interests of manufacturing facilities while working with Product Management and Logistics in the supply phase of the SIOP process to ensure the best use of Southwire’s manufacturing assets, production plan attainment and on-time delivery. This individual will have a particular focus on intercompany support of bare wire and other WIP components. Ensuring the optimal use of Southwire manufacturing assets. They will work to have more lengths ran inline at the Manufacturing facilities to match customer requirements and minimize scrap.
The individual will help drive Date Driven initiatives in MTO Manufacturing and adoption of improved production planning tools.
Key Responsibilities
• Leads materials management function to plants to achieve plant OTIF, WIP reduction, and other metrics.
• Execute on strategy and development of intercompany WIP flow, with a specific focus on Cu/Al strand. Improved Length planning and coordination.
• Conduct OTIF pareto analysis and translate data to implement and and drive action plans to improve customer service.
• Point of contact for priority and project order scheduling for facilities.
• Define and implement standard work instructions and provides training plans for all MTO Materials Management roles.
• Utilize tools like IBP to visualize and manage loadings by machine/work center/Plan items Capacity groups and use data to drive LTs.
Required Education, Experience, and Skills
Minimum Education Level: Bachelor's
Specialized Degree: Industrial Engineering or Supply Chain
Certificates: CPIM or CSCP is a plus
Years of Experience: 10Field of Expertise: Materials Mgt. experience W&C. Core software applications, including SAP and Advaris is preferred, Industrial products experience, understanding Length based planning.
