Job Summary
HRI Inc. is looking for a dedicated Paving Operator to operate heavy machinery and equipment used in asphalt paving projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of paving techniques, materials, and safety protocols.
Main Responsibilities
Control the movement and placement of paving materials to achieve the desired thickness and smoothness.
Supervise and adjust machine settings to ensure accurate asphalt distribution and compaction.
Perform routine maintenance on equipment to ensure efficient performance and troubleshoot equipment issues
Follow safety procedures and protocols to prevent accidents and ensure a safe working environment.
Coordinate with other team members including laborers, truck drivers, and supervisors to complete paving projects on schedule.
Keep accurate records of work performed, materials used, and equipment maintenance.
Assist with other tasks as needed to support the overall success of the project
Education
High School Diploma or equivalent experience preferred
Valid driver's license with the ability to maintain a clean driving record
Skills
Understand, follow and transmit written and oral instructions
Ability to meet attendance schedule with dependability and consistency
Ability to work with a team and in a fast-paced environment
Independent work ethic and professional, positive attitude
Follow all company safety procedures and drug testing requirements
Physical Requirements
Wears and maintains personal protective equipment (PPE) as required by Company safety guidelines
Regularly required to lift and /or move up to 50 pounds with or without assistance, use hands to move and manipulate objects, and communicate (talk and hear)
Frequently required to stand; walk; sit; reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
Standing/working on feet for long periods, and walking across uneven terrain
Frequent exposure to loud noise, all outdoor weather conditions, dust, fuel, oil, other chemicals, and airborne particles
Regularly exposed to fuel, oil, and other chemicals
Abides by company safety and drug/alcohol testing requirements
