Job Duties: This is a supervisory role and a program liaison between the Office of Judicial Administration and stakeholders within the Kansas court system to include the Supreme Court, Court of Appeals and district courts. Work primarily revolves around managing and supporting centralized payment processing and advising on procedures, policies, technology, and legislation affecting this program. There is significant fiscal responsibility with this position.

Responsibilities include reviewing and overseeing the following processes: receipt of court payments, daily and month-end balancing for statewide payment center, collection notices sent to parties, 30-day overdue/noncompliance letters, responses to a high volume of calls from the public about payments of fines, fees, restitution, judgments, other financial related matters, and troubleshooting financial issues for judicial branch employees statewide. Work includes performing specialized accounting tasks that follow established GAAP procedures. This position will work with the Chief Financial Officer and the Director of the Centralized Payment Center to develop and document accounting policies and procedures and train district court employees in these practices.

Required Education and Experience: Graduation from high school or equivalent supplemented by coursework in business, public or personnel administration, and 3-5 years of experience in the field of budget, personnel administration, or any equivalent combination of education and experience which provides the following knowledge, abilities, and skills.

Preferred qualifications : Supervisory experience is strongly preferred. Court/legal experience, bookkeeping experience, and knowledge of court procedures is preferred.
