Henry Ford Health System Nurse Practitioner Physician Assistant Neurosurgery Full Time Days Lakeside in Sterling Heights, Michigan

GENERAL SUMMARY:

  • The Specialty/Invasive Nurse Practitioner (NP) will work in a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment.

  • The Specialty/Invasive NP will be responsible for the assessment, diagnosis, treatment, education, consultation, and care coordination as a first line provider to patients and their families.

  • Provides inpatient and/or outpatient medical care.

  • Works in collaboration with attending physicians, advanced practice providers, consultants, house officers, nurses, and other members of the medical care team to ensure that patient outcomes are achieved safely and efficiently.

  • Specific procedures as per credentialing as indicated by training and experience.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: Requires Master's Degree in Nursing; Licensure as Certified Nurse Practitioner; Licensure as a Registered Nurse; and BCLS Certification -OR- Requires a Bachelor's Degree; Completion of an AMA-approved Physician Assistant program; Licensure as a Physician Assistant

  • ACLS/ BCLS Certification

  • 2 Years APP experience

  • Experience working as an APP in Neuroscience for at least one year is preferred

Must be able to work as a team concurrently with a physician, but also work independently running an APP clinic. Additionally, must be willing to work primarily at Lakeside Medical Center, but also split time at West Bloomfield Hospital.
