The Technology House, LTD Maintenance Technician in Streetsboro, Ohio

GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION

As the Maintenance Technician for The Technology House/Sea Air Space (TTH/SAS), you will be responsible for maintaining a safe and secure building, grounds, and machines by helping to create a machine maintenance schedule, maintaining building operating systems (e.g., alarm, AC, heat, lights, etc.), maintaining building grounds and walkways, and performing other essential duties assigned on an as-needed basis. This position will work between our two facilities in Streetsboro and Solon.

The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical aptitude with prior experience in building and machine maintenance. We are willing to train the right-fit candidates with strong mechanical aptitude. There is potential for this role to become a supervisory position for the ideal candidate.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Building:

  • Ensure alarm, A/C, heat, plumbing, electrical, etc. are all in working order.
  • Ensure grounds, lawn, driveways, parking lots, dock doors, and walkways maintained.
  • Monitor the safety and cleanliness of interior and exterior areas, such as offices, conference rooms, parking lots and outdoor recreation spaces.
  • Perform routine maintenance on facilities and making repairs as needed.
  • Schedule routine inspections and emergency repairs with outside vendors.
  • Ensure proper security measures for the workplace, including collaborating with security system vendors or a team of security professionals.
  • Assist in the maintaining day-to-day operations of facilities, such as delegating or completing maintenance orders.
  • Create reports on maintenance, repairs, safety and other occurrences for supervisors and other relevant staff.
  • Prepare facilities for changing weather conditions.

Machines:

  • Make sure machines are on a proper maintenance schedule.
  • Communicate products that need to be purchased for machines.
  • Perform basic maintenance fixes on machines (CNC Lathe, Mills & additive equipment), or work with third parties on more advanced repairs. Willing to train in machine maintenance for the right fit candidate with strong mechanical aptitude.
  • Make sure proper documentation is current for each machine. 

General Duties:

  • Work with management to secure and negotiate repair contracts.
  • Conduct and document regular building inspections.
  • Oversee work done by outside vendors and contractors.
  • Communicate safety procedures and matters to employees.
  • Assist in collaborating with building owners and upper management on budgeting for facility needs.
  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School Diploma or GED, advanced technical training preferred.
  • 1+ years of relevant experience preferred, although willing to train for candidate with mechanical aptitude.
  • Sound computer literacy skills.
  • Mechanical skills and acumen (knowledge of plumbing, HVAC, electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and other building systems a plus)
  • Proficiency with repair tools and techniques.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to speak with all levels of employees, guests, vendors, and team members.
  • Great time management, organization, and prioritization abilities.
  • Keen attention to detail, QC, and efficient problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to lift heavy equipment and comfortable standing or walking for long periods of time.
  • Prefer knowledge in operating and performing basic fixes on machines (CNC Lathe, Mills & additive equipment)
