Job Description Summary

Maintenance Technician will perform preventive and corrective maintenance on equipment and systems critical to the manufacturing and building operations. Experienced maintenance professional possessing the knowledge, skills, and ability to troubleshoot and repair manufacturing and utility equipment issues with minimal guidance or supervision. Drive best practice daily through high standards of engineering, compliance and HS&E standards.

Job Description

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Perform daily monitoring, preventive and corrective maintenance on building, manufacturing and utility equipment/ systems.

  • Troubleshoot and repair of manufacturing and utility equipment/systems such as pumps, motors, control valves and cylinder.

  • Required to do maintenance work such as general repair, carpentry, electrical and plumbing works according to standard.

  • Ensure maintenance work done comply to local regulatory, corporate safety and industrial standards.

  • Responsible to day to day electrical/machinery maintenance and repair works.

  • Provide support in the service, repair and maintenance of all facilities including compressor, chiller, Fire prevention system, and HVAC.

  • Service, diagnose and rectify faulty electrical and mechanical components and air-conditioning equipment.

  • Able to provide simple report on downtime and ensure action follow up to prevent recurrence of breakdowns.

  • Support the Maintenance Planner/Scheduler in the identification and procurement of parts required for maintenance.

  • Keep track of spare part and inventory usage to maintain spare part/inventory control.

  • Ensure that maintenance cover for production areas is provided at all times by demonstrating flexibility regarding working overtime to provide cover for holidays, sick leave, shutdown periods, busy periods and as required.

  • Supervise and coordinate with contractors and vendors on works according to schedule maintenance, repair, shut down and overhaul works.

  • Respond to emergency calls for any troubleshooting required at site.

  • Perform other responsibilities as assigned by superior or Management from time to time.

Qualifications / Requirements:

  • Diploma in Electrical, Mechanical or Mechatronics Engineering or equivalent.

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience working as a facilities maintenance technician or skilled trade within a manufacturing or industrial environment.

  • Ability and willingness to work off/varied shift/weekends, as required.

  • Preferable have professional license or certification in one of the following areas; Electrician, HVAC, Plumber/Pipefitter, Automation/Controls, Machining, Welding.

  • Basic knowledge in Microsoft Word & Excel applications.

  • Basic knowledge in PLC and its trouble shooting will be added advantage.
