Position Summary

The Global Product Development and Supply (GPS) organization is going through an important evolution to enable more reliable and consistent delivery of medicines to patients faster. As part of the evolution GPS needs to become a Digital First organization. This means adopting Digital as the core enabler to how it operates. Digital First means leveraging the best of technology, data, analytics, business processes and people to achieve improved business outcomes. To drive the transformation, we are establishing a team to implement our Digital First Transformation Strategy:

  • Understand the requirements and needs of the Operating Units and Functions; translating these into roadmaps and business cases to elevate their capabilities

  • Partner with Operational Excellence to integrate Digital capabilities into our Business Management Systems

  • Implement Digital First transformation methodology and approach

Reporting to the Executive Director, Digital Transformation Strategy; The successful candidate will be a driven, effective orchestrator who can perform analyses, build cross-functional teams, influence change, drive the transformation, and collaborate effectively with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct diagnostics within one or more GPS functions to identify, quantify and prioritize business opportunities, culminating in business cases and a digital roadmap.

  • Lead cross-functional teams with business, and technology stakeholders in the function to develop these. Drive alignment with key stakeholders around diagnostics and the digital roadmap

  • Drive mobilization of individual solutions within the digital roadmap. Support mobilization activities such as workflow mapping exercises, ideation sessions, waste/variability quantification, opportunity estimation, value lever generation, and design thinking activities to identify and prioritize customer needs.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define user requirements, create wireframes and prototypes, and conduct user testing to validate design concepts.

  • Translate requirements and data into wireframes and prototypes that effectively convey your ideas and communicate solutions to project teams, stakeholders, and customers.

  • Act as a Digital Ambassador supporting GPS Operating Units and business functions in their transformation journeys

  • Identify and prioritize digital initiatives that will drive innovation, growth, and operational efficiency, leveraging design thinking and other innovation methodologies.

  • Coach, mentor, and support the execution of transformation initiatives through a standard methodology ensuring connectivity between process, technology, data and people

  • Lead large cross functional transformation initiatives ensuring successful deployment across GPS

  • Strong ability to implement/practice Agile (scrum) methodology

  • Strong ability to break down an operation and lead teams in developing business cases with clear value propositions that can be defined through data, facts and evidence

  • Drive robust change management planning and execution to ensure adoption of new ways of working linked to the GPS Digital Roadmap

  • Provide expertise and perspective on best-in-class digital capabilities that can be adapted and leveraged by the organization with an eye towards operational excellence and efficiency

  • Stay up-to-date with emerging trends and technologies in digital transformation and apply that knowledge to drive innovation within the company.

  • Partner closely with leaders of cross functional teams including Business Insights and Technology, Finance

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Enthusiasm and energy to help transform organizations, with tenacity/perseverance for leading change

  • Bachelor's degree required in engineering, business, data science or information systems with a Masters or MBA preferred.

  • Over 5 years of experience in the digital and transformation space (technology, data, analytics, process redesign)

  • Extensive experience with diagnostics and business case development

  • Proven track record of driving innovation and growth through digital transformation, using design thinking, rapid prototyping, agile methodologies (e.g. Scrum) and other innovation methodologies.

  • Strong leadership, facilitation and collaboration skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate teams to experiment, take risks and work across the matrix.

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate complex ideas to stakeholders at all levels of the organization

  • Knowledge of emerging technologies and trends in digital transformation, and the ability to apply that knowledge to drive innovation within the company.

  • Demonstrated ability to explain digital concepts in a creative and easy to understand way

  • Demonstrated experience with operational excellence principles (preference for Lean Six Sigma certifications)
