Google Manager, Technical Program Manager, Privacy in Sunnyvale, California

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field, or equivalent practical experience.

  • 8 years of privacy related work experience, and managing cross-functional or cross-team projects.

  • 5 years of experience in leadership role(s) with direct reports.

  • 4 years of experience managing projects.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience in people management, with ability to articulate team vision and goals, and lead the team towards the implementation of these milestones.

  • Experience in driving privacy assessments and mitigations of products and services.

  • Strong technical skills, especially in the areas of privacy mitigations (Retention, Access Management, Logs, etc.) and development of privacy solutions.

  • Effective communication skills in writing and live presentations - to provide clarity and easy to follow guidelines for reports, peers and customers.

  • Great collaboration skills, to foster strong working relationships with teams across Google.

  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills.

Our team leverages technical expertise and experience in privacy systems, tools and processes to broaden and enrich The Privacy Mergers and Acquisitions team (PMA’s) privacy assessment of acquisition. We work on the development of guidelines and identification of tools to support and instrument PMA’s assessments.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $168,000-$252,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.   • Lead privacy assessments and design mitigation strategies for complicated projects across multiple domains.

  • Initiate, design and execute technological solutions for privacy gaps, including new processes, advanced tools and deployment of solutions.

  • Design, articulate and communicate a long-term strategy for the team, in terms of vision, priorities, projects and requirements.

  • Build and maintain relationships with other teams across the organization to identify opportunities to drive impact, reduce risk and foster strong cooperation.

  • Manage a team of Privacy Engineers and Technical Program Managers, guide the team using your technical domain knowledge, and mentor junior/new team members as needed.
