Walmart Global Tech is looking to hire a Staff Software Engineer (Frontend Focused) for their Marketplace Engineering team in Sunnyvale, California .

As a part of Walmart Global Tech, you will build industry defining seller and customer experiences in growing the marketplace platform You will be in the unique position to bring a broader impact to the Walmart's customers and sellers by providing Payments & Financial Services and provide capabilities to associates in supporting all segments of Walmart. About Team: Marketplace

Our team works closely with our US stores and eCommerce business to better serve customers by empowering team members, stores, and merchants with technological innovation. From groceries and entertainment to sporting goods and crafts, Walmart U.S. offers an extensive selection that our customers value, whether they shop online at Walmart.com, through one of our mobile apps, or in-store. Focus areas include customers, stores and employees, in-store service, merchant tools, merchant data science, and search and personalization. Marketplace Engineering team is at the forefront of building core platforms and services to enable Walmart to deliver vast selection at competitive prices and with best in class post-order experience by enabling third-party sellers to list, sell and manage their products to our customers on walmart.com. We do this by managing the entire seller lifecycle, monitoring customer experience, and delivering high-value insights to our sellers to help them plan their assortment, price, inventory. The team also actively collaborates with partner platform teams to ensure we continue to deliver the best experience to our sellers and our customers. This role will be focused on the Marketplace and Payments & Financial Services related aspects (experience, platforms and Reporting tools)

What you'll do:

• Provide deep technical expertise and thought leadership that helps accelerate adoption of the absolute best engineering practices, while maintaining knowledge on industry innovations, trends, and practices.

• Lead and participate in medium to large-scale projects by reviewing project requirements, translating requirements into technical solutions, gathering requested information, writing, and developing code, and conducting unit testing. Communicating status and issues to team members and stakeholders.

• You're a technologist who solves problems in creative ways.

• You have an eye for detail and can articulate the specifics of quality design.

• You are curious and unintimidated working on projects spanning across the full stack.

• You have previous experience in Marketplace or Payments & Financial Services and understand how to build products that fit.

• You have strong communication and interpersonal skills.

• You can strong focus on end-user impact when you build software.

What you'll bring:

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or related area and 5 years' experience in software engineering or related area. Or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Software Engineering, or related area and 2 years' experience in software engineering or related area.

• 7+ years' experience software development w/ a bias towards frontend technologies.

• Extensive experience w/ frontend frameworks/languages such as React, Redux, JavaScript, and TypeScript. Some Java/Node experience is also a plus.

• Experience writing lean HTML/CSS/JS and manipulating the DOM without the aid of other frameworks or libraries.

• Experience tech leading projects and mentoring more junior engineers.

• Experience writing technical design documents to communicate implementation plans.

• You have developed scalable and performant frontend components and have a keen eye towards usability and making complex features easy to use.

The annual salary range for this position is $143,000.00-$286,000.00
