Hyundai America Technical Center, Inc (HATCI) is looking for a Technology Project Management and University Engagement Specialist at our Superior Township, MI facility. Summary The Technology Project Management and University Engagement Specialist is responsible developing relationships with key universities to become the bridge between the universities and HATCI and/or Korean teams. The candidate will develop and maintain a database of research areas, labs, expertise, and mobility related initiatives for the key universities and then create regular reports on university technology activities and trends. The candidate will identify faculty, labs, projects, and partnerships that align with HATCI strategic objectives and facilitate meetings between stakeholders. The candidate will support the HATCI Technology Coordination Process and work with technical teams to generate roadmaps and other visualizations of current and future N.A. R&D activities. The candidate will support monthly Technology Coordination Committee meetings with leadership and attend pre-meetings with Technical Teams to prepare content for these regular reviews. Additionally, the candidate will support HATCI Technology Sensing Process, enter emerging tech information into Technology Database, review relevant tech sensing content from Technical Teams, and set up supplier demonstrations and other information sharing sessions to help build knowledge of all staff. Key Responsibilities include: Key Responsibilities include: Develop network and consistent relationships with key North American universities, lead information sharing initiatives with HATCI engineering teams to help identify promising research areas Support Technology Project Management by working with technical teams to generate roadmaps and other visualizations of current and future N.A. R&D activities Support technology sensing and coordination initiatives by meeting with various engineering teams, universities, automotive suppliers, and attending technology conferences Analyze current and future technology trends to generate regular reports on technology or competitor activity, and to make strategic recommendations for Hyundai Motor Group Support other technology and innovation activities including: Support development and use of technology database to track internal and external tech activity Support patent analysis and patent development related to internal HATCI technology or emerging tech trends Support innovation workshops to identify new features, vehicle concepts, whitespace opportunities Plan and monitor department budget as required Attend video conferences with colleagues from other time zones as needed (2x per month) Travel up to 20% of time domestically and internationally.
