The Opportunity

The ICT Support Specialist is responsible for maintaining a variety of training technology products for the client, maintaining a physical presence on the client site. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Information Technology and simulation system operation and administration, with a clear goal of ensuring all IT training technologies are available for consumption when required.

The ICT Support Specialist will engage with KBR customers, IT support agencies and other contracted entities, and a strong understanding of Defence operations and processes is critical to success. The position will report to the Senior Technical Professional and will assist with the maintenance of the contracted IT services.

Our ideal candidate will have an understanding of training, quality processes, ITAR and/or secure data handling requirements. Experience with Learning Management System administration with an understanding of the commercial computer, simulator and training technology industry is also strongly desired.

The key responsibilities of the role will include, but is not limited to:

  • Provide administration services for IT systems including Local Area Networks (MS Server 2012, VMWare) and Learning Management System

  • Assist in the maintenance of commercial training technology (Simulators/Virtual Reality) including defect reporting and tracking in support of training delivery

  • Evaluate in-service IT and simulation systems for efficiency and effectiveness to ensure alignment with contemporary best practices (ITIL)

  • Develop and maintain procedural documentation to ensure consistency of system operation

  • Provide subject matter expertise and advice in relation to technology-enabled solutions for training requirements and project processes

  • Work with the client and external stakeholders to integrate systems into project operations

  • Respond and react to tasking when directed by Senior Technical Professional

Qualifications, Skills and Experience

Essential:

  • Tertiary and/or vocational qualifications in an IT related field

  • Experience in IT administration and/or simulation systems, and training technology

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data, identify trends, and implement improvements.

  • Effective communication and stakeholder management skills, both verbal and written.

  • Experience in managing vendor relationships and contracts.

  • ITIL Foundation certification or higher is preferred.

  • NV1 Security clearance (with the ability to upgrade to NV2 if required)

Desirable:

  • Previous practical experience in delivering training utilizing simulation products

  • Understanding of defence systems, technologies, and industry regulations; familiarity with government contracts and acquisition processes
