Job Description

In the role of Principal Engineer, you will be responsible for developing deliverables ranging from factual condition investigation reports to presentation of analysis' and other design documentation in accordance with TfNSW and Australian standards, whilst supervising junior engineers.

It is not essential, however ideally you will have prior experience in the following areas.

  • Inspection & appraisal of existing structures assets

  • Development of analysis & design solutions for Water, Transportation and/or Energy infrastructure

  • Exposure to construction related activities.

We have a number of positions within this growing team that involves slight variations on a typical Principal Engineer role. We'd love to hear from you regardless of your speciality.

Qualifications

The successful candidate will possess the following attributes:

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or similar.

  • Extensive years of relevant engineering experience with a particular focus on Water, Transportation and/or Energy infrastructure projects.

  • Strong relationships with existing clients, potential new clients, and a drive to win work.

  • Ability to coach team members in the delivery of engineering outcomes, whilst leading in the selection of appropriate techniques, procedures and methods.

  • Demonstrates mature engineering judgement whilst contributing to the design and development of engineering solutions, identifying constraints, opportunities and buildability issues based upon analysis, experience and judgement.

  • Capable in the planning and organisation of tasks, people, project programmes and fee proposals.

  • Ability to lead/oversee the development of structural analysis.

  • Committed to setting and upkeeping high standards and quality of work across delivery teams.

  • A passion to lead on the creative and innovative development of engineering technology and continuous improvement systems.

  • Ability to influence collaboration within a team environment and proven strength in communicating concepts/ideas to technical and non-technical stakeholders; and

  • Passionate about training and mentorships of junior team members.
