SUNY Upstate Medical University Addiction Social Work (SW) Fellow in Syracuse, New York
Job Summary:
Our educational purpose is to train fellows in the fundamentals of addiction treatment
including (1) assessment of Substance Use Disorders (SUDs) and (2) development of treatment plans (3) individual and group counseling. Fellows will learn how to assess and diagnose substance use disorders (SUDs). Fellows will learn the basics of inpatient and outpatient substance use disorder treatment modalities and services, focusing on the continuum of care for SUDs, including utilization of community services. Fellows will learn about various treatment (CBT, MI, DBT, and etc.). At the end of the Interdisciplinary Addiction Fellowship, the fellow will be able to function independently as an Addiction Counselor/Therapist in an SUD treatment setting. Fellows will work towards CASAC-T certification with expectation to fulfill requirements of CASAC-T certification.
MH Masters & SWK Masters:
Expectation will be for these individuals to get at a limited permit to practice and CASAC P
Bachelor prepared Human Services:
Expectation will be for these individuals to get a CASAC P or CASAC T .
Participants will get a onetime $5,000 bonus when they achieve limited permit or CASAC-P/T status needed in order to practice under supervision.
Minimum Qualifications:
MSW required. Must be a graduate of an accredited SW school (Bachelors or Masters level).

L2: $63,500 - 67,000

Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as internal equity, market and business considerations. The salary range depicted is based on full time, 1.0 FTE and would be prorated accordingly for less than 1.0 FTE.
