SUNY Upstate Medical University Office Assistant 1 (Keyboarding), SG006 in Syracuse, New York

Job Summary:

Duties include but are not limited to: Receive phone requests for medical gases and various general phone requests and issues; Performs recordkeeping and data entry from a variety of sources into materials management financial and accounting systems; Clearing/receiving various goods by quantity and unit of measure to be viewed by all purchasing departments and accounts payable; Office management to include but not limited to operating office machines, i.e. fax, copier, printers, etc; Performs data entry of received goods and services for Upstate Medical University and Research Foundation; Accurate and efficient filing receipts and purchase orders and signed receipts for goods delivered; Gather/collect freight receipts to be forwarded to accounts payable and Campus purchasing; Provide general customer service to departments, labs, Nursing and clinical services and vendors. Must be able to exert up to 20 pounds of force frequently. Must possess and maintain a valid NYS Driver's License.

Minimum Qualifications:

The NYS Department of Civil Service has developed the NY HELPS program. During this program, the NYS Civil Service Exam requirements are suspended for the Office Assistant 1, SG006 title.

Work Days:

Schedule based on a 37.5 hour work week. Monday-Friday 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Occasional weekends may be required. Located at the Computer Warehouse Building
