Duties Description POSITION DESCRIPTION:You will provide professional nursing services appropriate to individuals served by the program to which you are assigned. Services may include, but are not limited to, nursing interventions and their documentation, case finding, health teaching/counseling and provision of supportive and/or restorative care.NY HELPS - This title is part of the New York Hiring for Emergency Limited Placement Statewide Program (NY HELPS).? HELPS Program titles may be filled via a non-competitive appointment.? This means that you do not need to take an exam to qualify, but you do need to meet the minimum qualifications of the title. If you are hired under the HELPS Program, you will be first be appointed as a temporary employee.? In June 2025, if you are performing successfully in the position, your appointment will be changed from temporary to permanent non-competitive.? Once you are in permanent status, your official probationary period will begin, and you may take any promotion exam for which you are qualified. At a future date (within one year of permanent appointment), employees hired under NY HELPS are expected to have their permanent non-competitive employment status converted to permanent competitive status.? You will not have to take an exam to gain permanent competitive status.#LI-DV1PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:• Perform Nursing assessments.• Development of detailed nursing care plans.• Participation in the ITT process. • In-service training of staff• Administration and supervision of effective infection control procedures. • Direct provision of a wide range of nursing interventions. • Effective nursing skills including ability to accurately administer medications and strong health assessment skills. • Ability to respond effectively to medical emergencies. • Ability to formulate and implement plans for health teaching/counseling of individuals and training of staff.

Geographic Differential added to the job rate ($82,656) for Registered Nurse 1 PS&T Grade 18.
