Eaton’s ES GEIS CHD division is currently seeking a Sheet Metal Worker. The core hours are 6:00 am to 2:30 pm. The hourly rate for this position is 23.34 per hour.

What you’ll do:

• Plan and perform a normal range of layout, machining and hand operations to fabricate, construct and assemble fairly complicated production parts such as cabinets, panel boxes, airport control desks and other special details and products working to blueprint specifications.

• Setup and operate such machines and equipment as spot weld, drill press, shears, rolls, brakes, saw, punch press, a two-axis, numerically tape controlled sheet metal punching and nibbling machine, and use a full range of sheet metal hand tools.

• Layout details using combination square, dividers, calipers, micrometers, protractor.

• Perform soldering operations and bend joints to obtain strong smooth seam and neat appearance and occasionally heat metals with oxy-acetylene torch as necessary for forming of parts to specifications.

• Utilize prescribed punch and die tooling; loading automatic tool changer magazine; inserting control tape; setting controller for proper operation; initiating machine cycle and removing machined part.

• Perform pre-setup operations during machine cycle and check first piece using fixed or adjustable gauges as required.

• Move material to and from machine as necessary.

Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:

• Minimum two (2) years machine operation experience

• Experience working in a manufacturing environment, reading work instructions and blueprints

• No relocation benefit is offered for this position. Only candidates residing within the immediate geographic area (50 miles) of Syracuse, NY will be considered for this position
