Make your mark in Actuarial
Our Actuaries are on the front lines, quantifying risk, pricing insurance and reserving losses for AIG’s major insurance operating companies, globally. We collaborate with Finance, Claims, Operations, Marketing and Risk Management, among other functions. As an AIG actuary, you will be challenged and encouraged to reach your greatest potential to help improve how we predict, manage and mitigate risk.
How you will create an impact
Define technical provisions for Local and USGAAP.
Review the reserves level for Insurance and Reinsurance Company for Commercial and Consumer lines products
Define the risk appetite (retention per risk)
Review the capital level (current and projection)
Write Appointed Actuary Report to the regulator commenting the external actuarial audit report
Profitability Studies
Identify, create and monitor actions plans needed to improve portfolios profitability
Define Budget Loss Ratio
Identify and investigate variances to financial plans and forecasts by interpreting financial results
Analyze quarterly studies of IBNR to manage loss ratio by products and help each Profit Center to create action plans.
Create all the financial statements notes related to the actuarial work
Manage databases to measure performance.
Ensure accuracy on actuarial databases.
Handle Brazil regulatory annual activities
Manage the external audit process
What you’ll need to succeed
Technical reserving experience and portfolio analysis experience
Pricing experience would be a plus
Actuarial Bachelor’s degree (MIBA is required)
Advanced English Skills
Do hands-on work
Recognized experience in insurance market in actuarial area
Support in managing team and actuarial activities agenda
Ability to dive into technical and execution level details
Capacity to lead the team, encourage accountability, manage deadlines, problem-solving and develop team skills
