At Jacobs, our Power Solutions team is geared towards providing a more integrated approach offering end-to-end service to support our clients in energy networks, thermal generation, renewable generation, and storage solutions space. We are helping our clients meet the challenges faced in countries and cities across the globe, providing innovative solutions from replacing conventional thermal power plants with renewable energy to developing demand side management strategies.  

We are currently looking for a Senior Scheduler to be based at our Project Site. Oversee and manage the Schedule for the project that includes major activities, durations, logic dependencies, milestones, and start/finish dates. Schedules will highlight the critical path and near critical paths. You will see yourself working on a Mega project that’s never been developed before and part of a growing business.

Responsibilities not limited to;

  • Conduct detailed reviews of resource loaded baseline schedules from designers and contractors. Evaluates compliance with contract milestones, and assesses logic dependencies, start/finish dates, and the capacity of the assigned resources to complete activities within the specified durations.

  • Receive, review, and provide updates to Site Management with respect to the Contractor’s completion against the agreed and contracted schedule. Track critical path, slippage, float retention / erosion, completion risks, and completion rate vs established KPIs.

  • Conduct scheduling analyses of designer and contractor claims. Support negotiation as requested.

  • Review monthly schedule updates from designers and contractors and assesses progress against approved baseline schedules. Identifies slippages that impact the project critical path and works with the project teams on options to mitigate these problems.

  • Provide scheduling input to Project Managers, Site Managers, and procurement teams during the preparation of tender documents. Focuses on coordinating milestones and construction phasing across multiple contracts.

  • Manage and advise on schedules that include planning, permitting, procurement, design, design review, construction, testing, commissioning, and third-party project activities.

  • Support the development and implementation of the scheduling policies and procedures.

  • Promote a culture of safety and quality to achieve best in class status within the Energy and Power sector.

Here’s what you’ll need :

About you;

  • Degree qualified in Engineering with over 10 years' experience for large process plant or power projects.

  • Demonstrated experience developing a master schedule for a large capital program is required. Must include coordinating scheduling interfaces across multiple projects.

  • Background with various types of delivery contracts including EPC, re-measurable, lump sum, and early contractor involvement.

  • Experience working as a key member of an integrated project team comprised of employees from the client and program/project manager.

  • Demonstrated ability to evaluate information, identify problem trends, and develop and implement action plans to improve overall project performance.

  • Must demonstrate a basic understanding of design and construction practices for large buildings, site work, utilities, and pavements.

  • Experience working in the Middle East especially Saudi Arabia is highly advantageous.

  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written. Ability to brief senior leadership.

  • Problem solver experienced with clearly identifying problems, evaluating alternative solutions, assessing risks, and making sound recommendations to decision makers.
